Statement Regarding COVID-19 Virus Preparations
Updated July 22, 2020: Here are our current COVID policies at the present time. We are mindful of COVID and are staying informed of the current situation. We are still offering curbside service for those who are not comfortable shopping in a store. We will come and get your pet from your car or bring your supplies, food, etc to your car, and you can pay over the phone. Our doors are also open if you prefer to come in for grooming or to shop. We aren't requiring customers to wear a mask, but if you wear a mask, we will also wear a mask. I have employees who have medical conditions and wearing a mask all day long could potentially be harmful for them, but as I said, they wear one when a customer is wearing one. We are social distancing, and we have a thorough disinfection procedure. Our doors, counters, ink pens, etc are disinfected after each customer. We are doing all that we know to make our shop a place where everyone feels safe and comfortable. There are so many unknowns and we have procedures in place that we believe are the best based on the information that we have gathered. Thank you for shopping local and for supporting us. We appreciate you so much. <3
Updated March 31, 2020: As you probably have heard, the Governor has issued an executive order asking for a shut down of nonessential businesses for 2 weeks. This is not a law but a request to only go out for needs that are essential. He said non essential businesses were those businesses where there would be close contact such as barber, tattoo parlors, nails, threading, etc. While we know that the pet food part of our business is essential, it is unclear how this effects the grooming part of our business. Until we have some clarity on this situation, we are going to implement some changes. Our doors will continue to be locked, and we ask that you call when you get here with your pet. We will then instruct you how to proceed. This may vary a bit day to day based on weather and other circumstances.
The store is well stocked with pet food and pet food is considered essential. For pet food customers, please call your order in ahead of time and we will have it ready when you get here and you can pick it up curbside in the front of the store.
We will keep you posted as we learn more.
We strongly believe that we should follow the recommendations of our Governor and our President.
We love you all and your fur kids, and this seems so impersonal but it’s temporary and necessary. We are in this together and together we will get through this.
March 24, 2020: We know how important your pets are to you and that you want to make sure that they'll have everything they need during this time.
We, like all of you, are closely monitoring what is happening with the virus. We want to ensure that all of our customers and staff stay safe, while also being able to continue to serve you all and ensure that your pets have what they need.
We have implemented a rigorous cleaning schedule that includes frequent cleaning of door handles and other frequently-touched surfaces in the store. We also have hand sanitizer available for use as well as our sinks for hand washing.
Tissue paper is provided for bulk bakery container scoops.
Rest assured that we are NOT anticipating stock issues on pet food. We are well stocked so there is no need for you to stock up on pet food at the moment for fear of us running out in the future. As of right now, we have not seen any indication of a disruption in our pet food supply chain.
If you don’t feel comfortable going into stores at this time, You can call in your order, pay on the phone, and pick it up at our door and we’ll bring your order out to you.
Before you turn to online shopping, for your pets' needs, please think of Cumberland Pet Essentials. We want to ensure the financial stability of our staff and their families during this tough time, as well as the future survival of small businesses like ours in our community.
Thank you, as always, for your business and support- and stay safe and healthy out there!
